Dr. Gary J. Blanchard, Professor of Department of Chemistry，Michigan State University. Blanchard received his PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1985. From 1985 to 1991, Blanchard was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Communications Research and then joined the Chemistry Faculty at Michigan State University. He has published about 150 journal papers, and contributed about 120 invited talks and 5 patents.

Research Areas：Design and synthesis of layered molecular assemblies to control interface properties, Fundamental examination the mechanisms of vibrational population relaxation at interfaces, Nonlinear and ultrafast laser spectroscopies used to understand microstructure, Novel potical signal processing strategies employing conjugated materials.
